Why do we ask for your date of birth on the product registration page?

For two reasons:

First, we like to understand the demographics of our customers. Understanding your age, sex, geographical location, etc. helps us to better understand our customers and create products for you in the future.

Second, websites soliciting information are required to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). COPPA requires that we obtain permission from parents before we knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.  Swimways Corporation does not knowingly collect or retain any information from children under 13. If a child attempts to register a product on our site, we will turn down the registration and ask that a parent register for them.
